REA Group today announced the appointment of Mr Henry Ruiz as Interim CEO, REA Group Asia effective immediately.
Mr Ruiz, who is currently REA Group’s Chief Digital Officer, will oversee the Group’s Asia business including iProperty Group across Southeast Asia and Chinese property site myfun.com.
Mr Ruiz will continue to report to REA Group CEO Tracey Fellows and retains his position on the Board of PropTiger, the Group’s joint entity in India.
Commenting on Mr Ruiz’s appointment, Ms Fellows said: “Asia is a key region in our long-term growth strategy as we look to transition those markets to digital real estate advertising.
“Henry’s expertise, knowledge and experience in delivering world-class digital products and consumer experiences is the perfect grounding to drive this digital transformation.
“Our purpose is to change the way the world experiences property, and we have an exciting opportunity in this region to do just that. We’ll do it through creating great products, for the benefit of consumers and driving value for customers. Henry is very well placed to step into this role,” said Ms Fellows.
The change also brings opportunity in Australia for Val Brown, as she moves into a newly-created position of Executive Manager, Consumer Experience. Val will be responsible for leading REA Group’s Australian consumer and product teams, and will become a member of the executive team.
Ms Brown has been with REA Group since 2009 and has held a number of senior product and technology roles, most recently as Executive Manager, Personalised Experiences and Mobile Apps.
