The US venture capital firm Bain Capital has closed the purchase of the Catalan property developer Habitat Inmobiliaria for 220 million, reported recently to Efe-Dow Jones, a source close to the operation.
For the real estate developer, valued at between €200 and €250 million, have also bid the American investment companies Oaktree Capital Group and Apollo Global Management, according to the same source.
Created in 1953, Habitat Inmobiliaria has developed more than 60,000 homes to date, according to company figures. In addition, it has 2.5 million square meters of floor area, valued at €189.7 million.
