Whathouse.co.uk has agreed a potential seven-figure, two-year main sponsorship agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, effective from June 2013. The whathouse.co.uk and What House? branding will appear on the first team home and away shirts and on all technical training kit as part of the deal.
What House? has sponsored the back of Wolves’ shirts during the 2012-13 season. Furthermore, at the What House? Awards 2012, the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry, guests raised £10,000 for the Cancer Care Appeal at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as part of an appeal by Wolves legend Jody Craddock, cementing a fruitful partnership in theie first season of sponsorship.
Rupert Bates, editorial director of whathouse.co.uk, says: “After an excellent working relationship in our first season with Wolves, significant commercial results and increased brand awareness, when the opportunity arose to move from the back of the shirt to the front as the main club sponsor and partner we jumped at it.
“Results on the pitch have of course been disappointing. But Wolverhampton Wanderers is a big club, with loyal and passionate support. Wolves, with its iconic old gold and black colours, has a rich and evocative history and the club will bounce back.
“We are totally committed to helping Wolves return to where they belong among the elite of English football and at the same time using the partnership to promote our brand and help new home buyers across the UK.”
Jez Moxey, chief executive of Wolves, says: “We’re delighted that What House? have decided to become our main sponsor, after a year supporting the Club as the sponsor of the back of the first team shirts. They are a national brand, providing an exceptional service to the thousands of whathouse.co.uk users looking to purchase a new home.
“This is an important commercial agreement for the club and a great, tangible endorsement for the way we deliver value for our portfolio of sponsors. We’re very much looking forward to working closely with What House? to increase the awareness of whathouse.co.uk across the country.”
