The TV advert aired on both state-owned TV channels as well as private networks during the months of June and July, but it was quickly censored because of the racy images displayed onscreen, and a blurred version was aired throughout the day, and the full version was shown after 11:00pm, causing for the video to go viral online where it was available in its entirety 24 hours a day.
Six months later, Idealista has done it again. It has launched another sexy TV advert, this time not visually but audibly charged.
Suspicious but uncomfortably familiar noises can be heard as the screen appears to be completely black. In the bottom left hand side a bright green 3:36 is displayed. A young man turns on the light, revealing his discontent at being awakened at such an ungodly hour by his noisy neighbours. ‘Malditos vecinos’ is appears on the closing screen (translation: damn neighbours), and a call to action is heard encouraging the viewer to look for a new home on idealista.com.
Once again the Spanish portal is using sex to sell its home searching capabilities. The campaign is clever and definitely attention grabbing without crossing the line into vulgar shock, but it is not for the faint of heart none the less, so if you watch the video in your office, turn down the volume.
