A fleet of whathouse.co.uk-branded iconic black London taxi cabs will be zipping around the UK’s capital as of today, part of a year-long campaign.

The first cabs started popping up on the streets of London this past Monday, the 29th October, with many more to appear over the next couple of weeks. An average of 200,000 London taxi journeys are made every day, carrying around 300,000 passengers*, so the What House? fleet is set to be seen far and wide across the London region over the next 12 months.

In addition to prominent branding along both sides of the taxis, there will be further promotion on the fold-up seats in the back of the cabs and branded receipts.

Starting in December, whathouse-branded cabs will be also making their appearance in Glasgow and Edinburgh, which will further support a sustained branding campaign north of the border that also includes regular television advertising on STV and nationwide visibility on STV’s popular regional websites, part of which is an exclusive deal to power new homes search on the Scottish sites.

Whathouse.co.uk digital director, Daniel Hill commented: “The London taxi branding campaign starts today, in time for the prestigious What House? Awards event at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 16th November, where the fleet will be making a special appearance.”

The What House? Awards are considered by many to be the most respected new homes awards in Britain, recognising the best new-build properties and housebuilders in the country. With entries in 2012 60% up on 2011, and attendance set to be at its highest since 2007, the Awards are evidence of a growing confidence within the new homes industry, something the portal wants to strongly convey to homebuyers.

“With literally tens of millions of London cab journeys made in a year, this campaign will sustain the promotion of the What House? and whathouse.co.uk names to a potential audience of around 8million people within Greater London over a 12-month period,” adds Hill.

“Our cab fleets in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh are just the latest in a series of promotional media channels that What House? and whathouse.co.uk are currently exploiting. This includes our deals online and on television with STV and our high-profile shirt sponsorship of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, which itself brings extra benefits when the team’s matches are shown on Sky and the BBC.”

“These excellent media deals demonstrate our continued commitment to making the highly respected What House? and whathouse.co.uk brands the most popular names in new homes as well as the most trusted.”
