Zoopla.co.uk, one of the UK’s top property portals, launched the first Zoopla Charity Classic 2012 back in March, an annual national golf tournament which this year, aimed to assist the charitable orgainsation Shelter in combatting homelessness. Each year the tournament will support a charity selected by Zoopla.
The Zoopla Charity Classic gave all residential agents and developers a chance to compete in one of four regional qualifying events at some of the UK’s best and most challenging courses.
Over the past four months, 260 UK residential agents and developers battled it out on golf courses across the country, with just 40 securing a coveted place in the grand final at The Belfry.
The challenge to find this year’s ‘Best Golfer in UK Residential Property’ was concluded yesterday; Darren Loose from Martin & Co. Estate Agents in Ringwood, Hampshire saw off stiff competition from fellow agents and developers, securing himself as the overall winner of the 2012 Zoopla Charity Classic Cup and being crowned ‘Best Golfer in UK Residential Property’.
Whilst the trophy and ultimate bragging rights go to Darren Loose, regional bragging rights in the qualifying rounds each go to:

- The London Club, Kent – Lee Goodchild – Greene & Co
- Woburn, Milton Keynes – Edward Baskerville - TW Gaze
- Carden Park, Cheshire – Dean Tyrrell – Myler & Co Estates
Zoopla has committed over £75k to charity so far this year with the golf tournaments helping to add to that figure as well as providing a fun day out and chance to meet up with industry peers for agents and developers across the UK.
