Post image for UPDATE: Home.ch’s New Driving Distance Feature

Yesterday we reported on the new driving distance feature launched by Home.ch, and though it seemed promising, unfortunately it failed to work for us.

Our thoughts were that, perhaps the feature was receiving an overwhelming response by the public, and that was the cause for it not working as it should. A representative from the company sent us a note: “Yes, we were overwhelmed by the usage of the new tool. We just added a new server, so everything should work fine again.” And it does… great work Home.ch!

Swiss property portal of Home.ch, has rolled out a new feature which allows users to search for listings within a driving distance (measured by time) of a specific address (ie: office, school, airport, etc.).

Right below the search window on Home.ch home page, is a section where users enter the starting point address, which should then generate up to 100 property listings within a specific journey time (from 10 to 45 minutes).

After the list of properties is displayed, users should be able to then refine their search by selecting price, number of rooms, size or apartment/house, nearby schools, shops, etc.

Property Portal Watch did a bit of browsing around and attempted to conduct the property search, but unfortunately we repeatedly received an error message. Perhaps the feature is experiencing an overwhelming response by public and we just happened to try it out at the wrong time. Whatever the reason may be, we feel that Home.ch’s new feature is certainly useful when searching for a new home.

The company has indicated it intends on launching a search function which will also indicate public transport traveling time.
