A team of volunteers from propertyfinder.ae has packed and distributed an impressive 1200 iftar food boxes to Dubai labourers in the first week of its ‘Meals for Workers’ Ramadan project, in partnership with Volunteer in Dubai.
The meal packing took place at catering company City Chef in Al Quoz which has offered its facilities and services to supply the meals, before the boxes were then transported to Al Sanad labour camp in Dubai for distribution to workers.
The project aims to hand out around 1000 meals in various labour camps each week during the holy month of Ramadan and is being funded by cash donations from UAE real estate companies.
“We are delighted that the ‘Meals for Workers’ project has got off to such a great start and we’re really thankful to all the volunteers for giving their free time for this fantastic cause,” said Renan Bourdeau, managing director at propertyfinder.ae.
“We really wanted to organise something that was true to the spirit of Ramadan and thanks to the generosity of our real estate broker partners and the backing of Volunteer in Dubai we are making this initiative a success.”
The propertyfinder.ae team is now looking for a final few sponsors to fund the last week of the project. Any company or individual who wishes to contribute should email anna@propertyfinder.ae.
