Over the last three months, 260 residential agents and developers have been battling it out on the golf course in the regional qualifying heats of the Zoopla Charity Classic 2012 to secure a much-coveted place in the grand final round, to be held at the world-famous Brabazon Course at The Belfry in September.
The tournament, in its first year, has been incredibly well received by all those that have participated so far and has raised thousands of pounds for charity. As a result, the Zoopla Charity Classic will now become an annual event on the calendar for agents and developers. Each year the tournament will support a different charity.
The winners of each of the regional qualifying heats, who now have bragging rights in their region and a trophy to prove it, were Peter Morgan of Peter Morgan Estate Agent (Neath, Wales), Lee Goodchild Greene & Co (North London), Edward Baskerville of TW Gaze (Diss, Norfolk) and Dean Tyrrell of Myler & Co Estates (Widnes, Cheshire). Each of these winners along with the nine other highest place finishers from each of the heats will now battle it out in the grand final on 19th September at The Belfry. The overall winner will take home the 2012 Zoopla Charity Classic Cup.
Jon Notley, Commercial Director at Zoopla.co.uk said: “It’s clear from the response that we’ve had that agents and developers have really enjoyed this event. We’ve valued the opportunity to spend time with our members out of the office at the same time as raising money for charity. The final is set to be a hotly contested event with the winner being named as the ‘Best Golfer in UK Residential Property’.”
Stuart Cole from Sotheby’s International Realty, who played in one of the heats said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the day, great company, superb venue and brilliantly put together. The umbrella delivery service was particularly good! Look forward to seeing you at the Belfry.”
Peter Morgan, Peter Morgan Estate Agents, who won one of the heats said: “A superb day despite the bad weather. Zoopla people were attentive and excellent hosts – a good reflection on the company. Looking forward to the final – can you surpass the standard already set?”
Michael Walker, Regional Sales Director at Hamptons, who played in one of the heats said, “It was superbly well organised from start to finish and even booking the weather was pushing the limits of your skills to an all new level!! You picked a fantastic venue, I had never played there before and I certainly want to pay it another visit soon that’s for sure. I am thrilled to be playing at The Belfry in September, that’s one of my favourite courses – I just hope I can bring my A game with me!!”
