REA Group has introduced a new commercial property app linked to its realcommercial.com.au website, adding to the company’s existing apps for the iPhone®, iPad® and Android™ geared for residential real estate listings.
The company claims its commercial property app is the first of its kind for the Australian market. Like the other REA Group apps, the realcommercial.com.au app is free to download; it is available on iPhone and iPod Touch and convenient on-the-go access to all commercial listings on realcommercial.com.au, allowing users to search for offices, retail spaces, land, warehouses and more on-the-go.
The new app enables users to download files and property brochures to iBooks, Evernote and Dropbox, they can also view full screen photos, add agent details to the user’s contact list and view properties and slideshows on HDTV with Airplay. Users can also find current listings located near them, using their device’s GPS function as well as find and/or contact an agent immediately, when a property has been selected.
REA Group launched its first app in December of 2010. realestate.com.au’s iPhone®, iPad® and Android™ app surpassed 1 million downloads in May of this year.
According to studies, smartphones are the way of the future, and we can even say that we are at the beginning of a mobile revolution.
Currently there are over eight million smartphone users in Australia, and as the number of smartphone owners rise, so does the popularity of mobile apps.
Portals which choose to go the route of developing an app for their site, secure brand loyalty. Once downloaded their app, users tend to continue using it exclusively, versus logging in each time on a mobile-friendly site, when searching for properties.
