Onthehouse Holdings Limited announced that the Chairman of the Board, Jim McKerlie, has advised his intention to step down from the Board and resign as a director when the company’s results for the year ended 30 June 2012 are released. Accordingly, he has stepped down as Chairman with immediate effect.
Mr McKerlie joined as Chairman before the Company listed and was integrally involved in the various acquisitions which created Onthehouse Holdings Limited. Jim McKerlie noted “I am pleased with the successful integration of the various businesses and the fact that we are on track in a very tough market environment. Management has been very focussed on achieving the required results.” Mr McKerlie added, “However the time commitment and frequent travel was becoming a challenge with my other board roles. As the Company is preparing plans and budgets for the coming year it was time to step aside for someone with the requisite time who would be part of the team to deliver the year two plan.”
Gail Pemberton, currently an independent Director, has been appointed as Interim Chairman, pending a proposed Board review. Ms Pemberton said, “on behalf of the Board of Directors, the management team and all the staff at the Company, I sincerely wish to thank Jim for his significant effort and contribution to the Company as Chairman.”
Ms Pemberton was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas Securities Services in the UK, Managing Director of BNP Paribas Securities Services in Australia and New Zealand, and an Executive Director at Macquarie Bank where she was Chief Information Officer for 12 years and subsequently Chief Operating Officer for the Financial Services Group. Ms Pemberton was named Chief Information Officer fot he Year (1999) and Chief Information Officer of the Decade (2000) by Australian Banking and Finance Magazine and was awarded the Centenary Medal (2001) for outstanding services to Australian business.
Ms Pemberton is currently a director of Paypal Australia, Baycorp, UXC, Chair of SIRCA, Chair of Onevue and independent adviser to the NSW Governement on Corporate and Shared Services Reform.
Onthehouse has also recently announced that Ms Diana Eilert will join its Board as a Non-Executive Director on 1 July 2012.
Ms Eilert was most recently the Head of Strategy and Corporate Development at News Ltd, where she was responsible for identifying, analysing, and implementing strategic growth opportunities. She was also a News Ltd nominee Director on the Board of REA Group Limited. Ms Eilert is an experienced Non-Executive Director, and is currently a Board member of Queenlsand Urban Utilities, and was previously Chair of GIO Australia and other Suncorp subsidiaries.
