Last week we reported on technology experts’ views that, desktop computers will soon be displaced by the tablet, thus becoming the primary and favoured computing device. Tablet sales are estimated to jump to 375 million by 2016, worldwide, in contrast to the 56 million sold last year, according to a report by Forrester Research.

Property portals around the globe are rolling out tablet apps virtually every day. Redfin.com has both iPhone and iPad appsZillow developed an app which syncs saved searches and favourite homes from tablet, smartphone or computer. Rightmove has rolled out a new app, the Rightmove Presenter, which assists estate agents on market appraisals and other communications.

Another company to have ‘seen the tablet light’ is Floorplanner, who has launched their first iPad app as well, the FloorplanFinder. The app is intended to show and present the floor plans a user makes with the Floorplanner web app. Users can pan, zoom and navigate through their floor plans, and showcase their property in a very technologically advanced manner, sure to impress prospective home-buyers.

The FloorFinder can be used as a great source of inspiration for users. The company states that, users can discover interesting, attractive and even avant grade floor plans by searching Floorplanner’s vast database with well over 6 million floor plans available for perusing (in 2D and 3D), or browse through other users’ creations to get a feel as to what they are designing and compare notes, per se.
