Commonfloor.com announced the launch of a new map-based, Google Maps integrated search component for property buying and renting. The feature enables users to locate properties on a map, in addition to a keyword based search.
Compared to the traditional key word or list based search mechanisms, map-based search provides a single, comprehensive view of the area or locality that a user is scanning to buy or rent property. It reduces the number of searches one may need to initiate based on key words.
The feature directly addresses the need to identify properties in areas / geographies that one cannot visit. When a buyer is searching for property in another city or region which he or she may not know well, the map based search helps in locating the right kind of property given his or her requirements, without having to call people / agents or travel to the region. Through this feature, buyers also get to know the proximity of key establishments like airports, railway stations, hospitals and schools, which aids easier decision making on the choice of property.
