Vertical search specialist Mitula has launched a viral video campaign aimed at raising awareness to both, vertical search and itself.

The witty commercial shows a searcher using Mitula to find a car (yes, you can search for cars, houses and jobs using Mitula) and as he searches, the car of his dreams is built behind him. The ad shows the searcher changing the colour and other features of the car as it is being built behind him. Once he has finished, he turns around and much to his surprise he finds the car there – ready to drive away.

Firstly, having seen the ad, it is good. It engages the audience and in a quick, light hearted way demonstrates all the value that vertical search can deliver. What is also good is that, it works across all languages. While Mitula is based in Madrid, Spain and has operations in 23+ countries, the ad clearly isn’t targeted at one demographic or one geography.

Secondly, it is interesting enough to go viral. The secret to all these viral ads is that they must be interesting enough for people to share with others. I think there is enough in the Mitula commercial to see people send it to their friends. Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The ad has only been up on YouTube and already it has 8k+ views. Not bad.

Check out the ad below and let us know what you think.

Thanks for this PPW! we are really exited about the video and most importantly we think it does let the people out there to know how to use our service and what one could (or could not Expect) from it. We are looking forward to hear comments and criticism should there be any…I am sure the character searcher in the ad would have something to complain about after he performs his second search at the end….

I’d worry that I didn’t get the right “Scarlett Johansson” seeing as the guy is searching for a 3 series M3 and and get’s a 1 series.
