UK’s number 1 property portal, Rightmove has launched a new Facebook contest to give home sellers and their agents an opportunity to further promote their properties and offer a personal touch.
The ‘Seller of the Month’ app allows vendors to put forward their property on Rightmove’s Facebook page and describe what’s great about the home they are selling. Facebook users can then review the list of entrants and vote for their favourite property. At the end of each month, the eventual winner receives a bundle of Rightmove advertising products valued at over £5,000, to make it the most visible and stand-out property on the UK’s most-visited property website.
Rightmove director Miles Shipside comments: “In a market that is low on transactions with high levels of unsold stock, standing out on Rightmove can really make the difference in achieving sales success. ‘Seller of the Month’ will provide sellers and their agents with an extra place to promote their homes for sale, and each month give one lucky winning seller a massive online boost”.
The package of Rightmove advertising products provided to the winning vendor includes Featured Property, Premium Listing, Local Homepage and an exclusive email campaign for their agent to apply to their property. The products will place the seller’s property in prime positions across the website, making the property the most visible on Rightmove. Rightmove receives over 10m home-movers every month and sits in 8th position between Amazon and the BBC website on the list of most-used websites by the British public.
Shipside adds: “Social media is becoming a key component of the property search process and can significantly extend the reach of a property to potential home-hunters. This competition is all about encouraging vendors and their agents to share and discuss their Rightmove property listings on social media channels as a simple means of gaining greater exposure.”
Rightmove have stated that Social media is an expanding part their growth strategy with 50% year-on-year growth in site visits from social media channels, and around 300,000 visits a month now coming directly from either Twitter or Facebook.
Seller of the Month is the second Facebook based competition this year following Rightmove’s Ideas Factory which received over 1,500 entries.
