immobilienscout24.de, the top German property portal, has passed the 1 million downloads mark for its suite of apps and reached number one in the Apple App Store with its iPad offering.
The portal says its iPhone app has been downloaded more than 840,000 times since its launch in January 2010, and its Android app more than 160,000 times. About 10 percent of immobilienscout24.de’s traffic now comes from mobile, with 65 percent of that from the iPhone app. At last count, immobilienscout24.de was seeing over 5 million unique visitors per month.
“We expect that about half of the visitors will reach our website by smartphone or tablet PC in two years,” says Christian Henk, the portal’s vice president of product management for real estate. “We want to offer a fitting product for the customer for any channel and every use situation.”
Along with property search applications, immobilienscout24.de has also created apps for moving house, financing and real estate marketing. The portal says its product development strategy can now be described as “mobile first,” with all new features developed to cater to mobile scenarios.
