homesales.com.au, the real estate arm of the CarSales network of classifieds websites, is now offering free listings to real estate agents alongside its paid For Sale By Owner listings.
The property portal, which was first launched in 2009, promises there will be no lock-in periods, commissions or hidden costs associated with these free listings. homesales.com.au says it currently has listings from over 1,000 agents and an Australia-wide inventory.
The portal adds that this free-to-list option is a response to a “call for more competition”.
“homesales.com.au has responded to the market by creating a free-to-list service for licensed real estate agents looking for alternatives to the traditional, and expensive, advertising streams,” says Rhett Dallwitz, homesales.com.au’s general manager.
“We have a range of new products scheduled for release including technology platforms that put agents directly in touch with qualified sellers,” Dallwitz adds. “We’re looking forward to being able to tell the growing number of homesales.com.au agents more about this product very soon. With overwhelming support from the industry, the road ahead for the homesales.com.au brand looks promising.”
homesales.com.au was an early foray outside the automotive marketplace for carsales.com Ltd – a listed ASX 200 company with a market capitalisation of over AUD$1 billion. The company claims that its network of websites saw over 15.2 million user session in May this year, but does not outline how much of that traffic went to homesales.com.au.

Here at Thehomepage.com.au we’ve always been free to list, and started free to list. The internet is free information, so it’s about time the revolution started to take off.
We promise to always be free and unlike other sites don’t capture sales data or have private listings.
It’s great to see the free revolution in online real estate taking off!
