versteigerungszwang.de has just been launched as a foreclosure search engine for the German marketplace, relying heavily on a map-based search interface.
Creator Gunther Kotz explains that the site lists foreclosure properties by using data from over 250 court websites, and presents search results on a Google Maps display.
“versteigerungszwang.de obtains its data by crawling official court sites, but displays it dfferently to give users a better search experience,” he explains. “Further the site enables registered users to save interesting properties and make notes so that they do not have to browse all listed properties again if they return to the site a few days later.”
German market leader immobilienscout24.de also lists foreclosures, however its results are not displayed on a map.
“I intend to add additional features to the site such as a calender function remembering users of forthcoming property auctions or allowing users to search data of past auctions,” Kotz adds.
