Following on from Digital Property Group’s claim that findaproperty.com is second in the UK market based on comScore figures, zoopla.co.uk has released Nielsen statistics that place it in front of findaproperty.com.

Both sets of figures show a surge in visits to property portals in May, after DPG, zoopla.co.uk and market leader rightmove.co.uk ran spring marketing campaigns. The Nielsen statistics have rightmove.co.uk up 7.6 percent year-on-year to a May total of 3.45 million unique visitors – a contrast to the 6.6 million recorded by comScore.

Nielsen put zoopla.co.uk’s May audience at 1.96 million unique visitors, up 45.97 percent year-on-year. This is in front of findaproperty.com, which had 1.7 million unique visitors, and primelocation.com, which had 975,000. comScore put zoopla.co.uk’s audience at 3.4 million and findaproperty.com’s at 3.6 million.

zoopla.co.uk founder and CEO Alex Chesterman says his portal is gaining traction as a household brand. “Our latest research confirms that our brand awareness in the market in also now second only to rightmove.co.uk,” Chesterman says.

Earlier this week, zoopla.co.uk announced that it has now added aol.co.uk to its list of partner websites, after signing an exclusive deal to power the network’s property search.
