immobilienscout24.de is opening up its commercial property marketplace to foreign investors, offering “unprecedented access” to the German property market.

The top German property portal launched the CommercialNetwork marketplace earlier this year for investment buyers looking for properties over €5 million. It works by matching investors with suitable properties and allowing buyers and sellers to negotiate through a number of anonymous contact stages.

immobilienscout24.de says it is now targeting international investors searching for German properties and foreign portfolio holders selling properties in Germany, and has launched an English language version at commercialnetwork.co.uk.

“International investors are currently focusing much more on the German property market,” says Thomas Gawlitta, head of CommercialNetwork. “With CommercialNetwork we offer these clients a unique opportunity to acquire top investment properties throughout Germany from a volume of five million euros. The opening up to foreign market players provides portfolio holders in Germany with convenient access to international capital.”

immobilienscout24.de explains that CommercialNetwork’s software matches investors with suitable investment properties by checking offers and searches for data such as investment volume, location and size. Contact details and property data are only forwarded once a broad agreement has been reached on both sides to buy and sell. immobilienscout24.de says this ensures the anonymity and discretion required in this “sensitive market”.

immobiliensout24.de added a commercial agent search earlier this month, and released an iPhone app for people looking at building their own homes in March this year.
