Top Australian property portal realestate.com.au has followed up its December iPhone app launch with the release of an Android app today.
As smh.com.au reports, new research from IDC Australia shows Android had a 25 percent share of the Australian smartphone market at the end of 2010, however a spokesperson for the company says it is now on track to become the country’s number one smartphone platform.
“Key features of the realestate.com.au Android app include the ability to search for property to buy or rent, view property results via list or map view and even get directions to a property for open for inspections,” says Henry Ruiz, realestate.com.au’s general manager for consumer experience and product marketing.
“Users can even search by current location, send to a friend via email, and click to call an agent or email an agent directly from an Android enabled smartphone handset,” Ruiz adds.
So far, realestate.com.au says its iPhone app has been downloaded 184,000 times. Number two Australian property portal domain.com.au is also available on the iPhone and Windows Phone 7, but is yet to release an app for Android.
