Current number 17 US real estate website HomeAway has launched a new community section offering forums, groups, seminars and podcasts.
HomeAway, which attracted an investment from Google Ventures in November last year, says this is a free platform catering specifically to vacation rental owners. At the moment, the HomeAway has set up a US-based community and a French language version, and users do not have to be HomeAway advertisers to sign up.
“Thousands of owners and managers who have a passion to share what they’ve learned – each an expert in their own right – want to participate in this industry and this is a platform to do so,” says HomeAway CEO Brian Sharples.
homeaway.com saw a big jump in the Hitwise rankings for January, moving from 26th to 17th place. This followed the launch of a TV advertising push, which screened during the Super Bowl.
