Swedish market leader hemnet.se has now made the switch to its upgraded website, after releasing a new design in beta late last year.

The redesigned homepage allows users to search via traditional criteria and through eniro.se’s map-based search. hemnet.se teamed up with eniro.se to create this listing search in June 2010.

Discussing the relaunched website, Swedish property portal commentator Magnus Svantegård argues there is more that could be done to make the process of home searching more efficient.

“For sure a more modern feeling using the service and it’s more user friendly,” says Svantegård. “However, I was hoping for more features, especially after looking at the earlier mock-ups. Hopefully, there is more to come.”

“On the other hand, I’m a bit impressed that hemnet.se, having the biggest agent associations as largest owners, has started to display the number of days a listing has been on the market,” Svantegård continues, pointing out that competitor portal booli.se has included this information for some time.

Four-year-old booli.se has also added a price estimates feature during the past few weeks. Time will tell whether hemnet.se, which currently claims to see 1.4 million unique visitors per week, decides to follow suit.
