IPGA Ltd, parent company of the iProperty family of portals, has just announced that former REA Group CFO Georg Chmiel is now a member of the IPGA Board.

Chmiel resigned from REA Group in October last year after six years at the company. He is now the chief operating officer of Australian real estate franchise group LJ Hooker.

“We are excited to have Georg join the IPGA Limited Board,” says Simon Baker, IPGA’s chairman. ”I had the privilege of working closely with Georg at the REA Group and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in owning and operating property portals to iProperty. In addition Georg was intimately involved in the REA Group’s extensive M&A activities.”

IPGA says Chmiel will chair the company’s Audit Committee.

In September last year, IPGA reported revenues of AUD$2.9 million for the first half of 2010 – a 52 percent increase from the first half of 2009. The company then completed a placement of AUD$2.5 million worth of shares at an issue price of 31 cents per share.

Disclosure: CAV Investment Holdings, a related party of Classified Ad Ventures – the owner of propertyportalwatch.com – owns shares in iProperty Group parent company IPGA.
