Australian house and land package portal mypackage.com.au and its sister websites have now added the ability to review and compare multiple floor plans in their search results.
The creators of mypackage.com.au are also behind the findnew.com.au network of websites, which includes niche sites such as findnewhomebuilders.com.au and findnewlandforsale.com.au. The new floor plan search on these websites presents results as floor plans where available, allowing home hunters to click through to see photos of the property.
“Consumers when looking to build place significant emphasis on ensuring the floor plan meets their lifestyle needs,” explains Adam Keleher, the websites’ managing director. “This new search option has been well received and allows searchers to expedite the process of finding the perfect new layout from a range of home builders, agents and developers.”
“From what we can see this is a first in the portals space in Australia and possibly the world which is quite surprising,” Keleher adds.
At the moment, mypackage.com.au lists 729 new home designs and 1,876 house and land packages. The website claims it topped 40,000 visits in January 2010, and says it offers “flexible and tailored” subscription packages for advertisers.

A great innovation. I know that when I looked to build, comparisons of floor plans was the most important issue in determining who I should build with. Going around to display homes and collecting floor plans then sitting down and trying to make comparisons, was time consuming.
This will be a hit. By the way, guys at mypackage.com.au, would love to talk to you about displaying some of your “waterside” plans on our free to list site.
