Indian property portal 99acres.com has launched a new question and answer section where users can accumulate points and become featured members depending on the answers they provide.

99acres.com says the new section has been introduced to “address the serious paucity of unbiased information for those interested in the realty sector,” explaining that answers are provided by in-house experts as well as the portal’s users.

Other property portals that offer similar question and answer sections include zoopla.co.uk, zillow.com, and realtor.com.

99acres.com claimed leadership in the Indian marketplace twice during 2010, and the portal saw a decrease in losses after a difficult 2009.

Ambaresh Raghuvanshi, CFO of 99acres.com parent company Info Edge, recently told moneycontrol.com that 99acres.com “looks like it’s on its way to breaking even some time over the next six to nine months.”
