Over a year and a half since it launched its mobile website, top Australian property portal realestate.com.au has finally made the jump to iPhone.
The portal’s new iPhone app allows users to search listings, view photos, send open home and auction times to their phone’s calendar, get directions to properties, and contact agents.
While realestate.com.au’s mobile presence was limited to a mobile website until now, the portal has been reporting success in this area. At the end of 2009, realestate.com.au said it was seeing “exponential” growth in traffic to its mobile website, with REA Group CEO Greg Ellis describing mobile as “a critical device in the medium to long term.”
Number two Australian property portal domain.com.au has also reported success with its iPhone app, which was released in June 2009. In October, the portal said its app had been downloaded over 250,000 times and accounted for seven percent of all leads sent to agents.
