Following on from the release of Australian property search applications by the Commonwealth and St George banks, ANZ bank has released its own home hunting app for iPhone.

The app, dubbed “Property Tracker,” sources data from domain.com.au and Australian Property Monitors. Like the apps from Commonwealth and St George, ANZ’s offering features an Augmented Reality search capability that shows current selling price, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and sales history.

Links to ANZ home loan calculators, along with contact details for ANZ home loan experts or the nearest ANZ mobile lender, are also included in the app.

“Anyone who’s ever bought a home knows how much time is spent searching for the right property, getting finance in order and making a purchase,” says ANZ head of retail marketing, Paul Riley. “ANZ Property Tracker gives people the information they need from their iPhone to quickly determine if the property they are interested in is within reach, and who to talk to at ANZ to turn their property dream into a reality.”

I was quietly walking down Collins Street in Melbourne on Monday night when I was confronted by this massive iPhone window display at the ANZ branch. The screenshow presented this new app in a series of screenshots.

Here is an average photo taken from my iPhone (3GS) http://img.skitch.com/20101007-rkcb7uik3xwk9k2b73hj59p9wh.jpg

The only missing component of what was smart interactive marketing would have been a QR code for me to access a page to activate a download then and there!!
