A new agent-owned luxury property portal is to launch at the end of next week, offering free listings to its members.

fabricproperty.com has evolved from Fabric Magazine, and is owned by a consortium of London-based agents who will have control over the content and direction of the website. The website’s listings will cover some of the most affluent neighbourhoods in London.

“Many property portals have been ramping up their charges recently but fabricproperty.com is not operated by media owners – the agents themselves run it and they are the shareholders,” explains Simon Hobbs, managing director of Forward Limited, the company behind the new portal.

The agencies that have signed up to fabricproperty.com so far include Anscombe & Ringland, Arlington Residential, Aston Chase, Bargets, Beauchamp Estates, Behr & Butchoff, Benham & Reeves Lettings, Benham & Reeves, Brian Lack & Co, Chesterton, Day Morris, Glentree Estates, Godfrey & Barr, Goldschmidt & Howland, Hamptons International, Harris Latner, Heathgate, Litchfields, Parkheath, Plaza Estates, Savills, Sandfords, TK International, Vickers, Winkworth and Wigmore Estates.

fabricproperty.com says its unique selling point is its professionally-shot property tour videos. “This is much more than the average property video, these are TV-quality, and capture the true size and beauty of the property, as though users are seeing the home for the first time with the agent,” says Hobbs.

The new portal is aiming to position itself as the expert in luxury property, offering areas guides and monthly celebrity interviews about certain neighbourhoods alongside its listing search.

“We believe that fabricproperty.com is a unique concept, and that the site is like nothing else currently being produced,” Hobbs says. “The top end of the market has held its own during the recession and because we have access to some of the finest properties in the country, the buzz surrounding the launch has been incredible.”
