The London Evening Standard’s property news website, homesandproperty.co.uk, is to provide a property search for independent.co.uk at property.independent.co.uk.
This property search, powered by portal developer Homeflow, was added to homesandproperty.co.uk in January this year. A statement from homesandproperty.co.uk claims it is now among the top 10 UK property websites with over 1 million unique users per month.
“independent.co.uk is one of the largest and most popular newspaper websites in the UK with over 10 million unique users and will therefore add further significant scale to the homesandproperty.co.uk offering,” the statement continues.
As negotiator-magazine.co.uk explains, The Independent and The Evening Standard became part of the same company earlier this year when Independent Print Limited acquired The Independent and Independent On Sunday newspapers.
“With The Independent now being a stablemate of The Evening Standard, it makes sense to allow independent.co.uk to benefit both from Homeflow’s expertise and the strength of the Homes & Property brand name,” says Matt Harrison, The Evening Standard’s sales and marketing director.
“For The Independent this is an important step in the right direction for a critical vertical which up till now had not been sufficiently supported,” adds Bill Swanson, managing director (digital) of The Independent.
homesandproperty.co.uk began sharing its listings with nestoria.co.uk at the end of June, and recently said it planned to add 500,000 listings to Google Maps’ UK property search.

Over 1,000,000 unique visitors is a lot of eyes looking at your site.
Does anyone know what the top 10 do?
I see they are in the top 10…so, what do the big dogs have?
