Listings from For Sale By Owner portal buymyplace.com.au have now been added to domain.com.au, Australia’s number two property portal.

buymyplace.com.au says the selected properties that have been added to domain.com.au will be exposed to 2.3 million unique visitors per month. The portal did not outline whether there would be any additional costs for this distribution.

buymyplace.com.au charges private sellers between AUD$270 and $599 to advertise their property. Private sellers can also list directly with domain.com.au, with 28 day for sale listings starting at $250.

buymyplace.com.au was first launched in 2008, covering the state of Victoria. It now covers the whole of Australia and is listing 1,739 properties for sale.

The portal recently released figures that state 52 percent of its users sell within one month, 72 percent sell for more than quoted by an agent, 80 percent save more than $10,000, and 40 percent save more than $14,000. It also claims to have sold 10 properties in 10 days in December 2009.

It’s not April Fools Day again is it??? is this for real? I’m guessing that they didn’t think this through very well. This is going to be a very unpopular move with agents.

I know that Domain already have Private Sellers on their site & they can say that this move is only going to top up their existing Private Seller numbers.

If they really want to build their agent subscribers then I’d have thought that they may have considered cutting back rather than increasing the Private Sellers on their site.

Dumb move Domain.
