immonet.de, a German property portal owned by Axel Springer, has just bought a majority stake in two removal websites: umzugsauktion.de and umzugspreisvergleich.de.
immonet.de says by expanding into the removals market the portal is “strengthening its position as a full-service provider and is diversifying its business model to ensure sustainability”.
“With umzugsauktion.de and umzugspreisvergleich.de, immonet.de now has the best online offering in the German removal market,” said Philip Schulze, the portal’s managing director. ”This represents an excellent value-added for our users and a strategic competitive advantage for immonet.de.”
immonet.de, which just launched a new online advertising campaign, is not the only German portal to have expanded its services beyond property listings. Market leader immobilienscout24.de has also been adding features – such as an address change service and a monthly property price index – at a steady pace.
immobilienscout24.de’s unique users figures were recently pushed to an all-time high of 4.6 million after a TV ad campaign. immonet.de says it sees an average of 1.8 million unique users per month.
