A study by German Internet research company Hamburg Fittkau & Maass Consulting has revealed that 88 percent of Germans looking for property online use market leader immobilienscout24.de.
The study, which surveyed 21,050 people with Internet access who were looking to move house over the last 12 months, shows approximately 70 percent went online to search for their next home.
immobilienscout24.de also came out ahead of these competitors in terms of where property seekers actually found their houses. Just 7.2 percent of those surveyed found their new place on immonet.de, while only 5 percent said they found their home using immowelt.de. 34.9 percent found a house using immobilienscout24.de.
immobilienscout24.de, which was recently voted most popular German property website in MetrixLab’s Website of the Year awards, puts its unique visitors numbers at 4 million per month. immonet.de, which was voted best German property website by MetrixLab, says its average total is 1.4 million, while immowelt.de’s unique visitor total was put at 1.7 million in mid-2009.
