magicbricks.com says it is top of India’s property portals in terms of unique visitors according to figures from comScore.
The Times of India, part of magicbricks.com’s parent company the Times Group, reports that magicbricks.com’s number of unique visitors has grown over the last three months and that the portal attracts 9 percent more unique visitors than its nearest competitor. It also says magicbricks.com is 125 percent ahead of the website in third position, but does not name that website.
The title of leading Indian property portal is regularly contested. In April, in.iproperty.com cited alexa.com figures to put its page view numbers 50 percent higher than magicbricks.com’s total. In June, newcomer propertydirect.in said its reach had grown by 1000 percent, and in December 2008 propertywala.com claimed it was the top real estate website in terms of traffic and search rankings after winning best real estate website in the Website of the Year Awards.
magicbricks.com’s strategy to stand out in this highly competitive market has been to look beyond the Internet to engage customers. It recently launched a phone-based service and held property fairs for affordable homes.
