property-net-spain.com, a Spanish property directory for English speaking property seekers, has slashed its prices by over 80 percent in an attempt to drum up new business in the competitive Spanish market.
Launched in 2002, the subscription based website offers a map based search to find property for sale or rent. Global Edge has reported that the reduction in fees coincides with the sites re-launch with sees the integration of Google maps into their property search system.
Rather than €60, property-net-spain.com will now charge agents €10 a month to list up to 100 properties – a significant saving for advertisers.
Founder Rupert Windle was quoted on Global Edge as saying:
“We have looked at the market and we are not big enough to charge the rates that some of the bigger players do. However, we get a good volume of traffic and we rank in the top three for terms like Property in Spain. At this price we believe can provide real value for money”.
property-net-spain.com is in competition with a number of other property portals focusing on Spain including big local players like kyero.com, fotocasa.es, idealista.com, portae.com, tucasa.com, globaliza.com, facilisimo.com and sacacasa.com. There are many aimed at the overseas market including propertynetworkspain.com, the Spain section of rightmove.co.uk, thinkspain.com, inspain.tv and propertysalespain.
Company figures given to propertyportalwatch.com from July 2009 show that the portal receives approximately 1000 visitors per day and contains over 10,000 listings.
